Sapna Mehta was a senior policy analyst on the Education, Labor, & Worker Justice team at CLASP, where her research focused on job quality, including paid family and medical leave and paid sick days; labor standards enforcement; worker organizing; and workforce development. A seasoned economic policy advocate with experience across advocacy, labor, government, and philanthropy, Sapna brought.deep expertise on issues related to worker rights and job quality.

Prior to joining CLASP, Sapna was the policy director at TIME’S UP NOW, where she led the organization’s federal advocacy strategy on care issues, sexual harassment in the workplace, occupational segregation and pay equity. She also served as the policy and research director at Groundwork Collaborative, where she successfully advocated for emergency protections for workers and families during the pandemic, including pandemic unemployment insurance and emergency paid leave. Prior to this position, Sapna was the legislative and policy director at Main Street Alliance, playing a pivotal role in building momentum for the first-ever U.S. House of Representatives hearing on paid family and medical leave. Sapna comes out of the labor movement and helped seed SEIU’s Airport Workers United campaign. She’s also held positions in New York City government and on the Ford Foundation’s Future of Work team. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, New York Daily News, Crain’s New York, The Hill, and other publications.

Sapna holds a B.A. in Economics from The Ohio State University.
