National Council for Workforce Education Annual Conference

CLASP experts will present in several sessions during the National Council for Workforce Education Annual Conference on Oct. 17 - 18.

Vickie Choitz, senior policy analyst for the Workforce Development team at CLASP, Amy Ellen Duke-Benfield, senior policy analyst at CLASP, and Marcie W. M. Foster, policy analyst and project manager for Shifting Gears at CLASP, will present during the session Dollars and Sense: Introducing a Federal Policy Toolkit for States to Fund Career Pathway and Career Pathway Bridge on Oct. 17 from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. ET. They will discuss how to use CLASP's toolkit to secure federal funding to support career pathways and associated bridges.

Ms. Duke-Benfield will also present during several other sessions on Oct. 17 - 18. These sessions are: Overcoming Financial Barriers to Student Success on Oct. 17 from 1:15 - 2:15 p.m, where she will discuss the costs of attending community college and the full range of financial supports available to help students remain enrolled in school and engaged in their studies; ABE/Occupational Career Pathway Bridges in Wisconsin on Oct. 18 from 10 - 11 a.m, where she will highlight the structure of new approaches to higher education, such as IBEST bridges and integrated ABE/Occupational instruction; and Career Pathways Shift Gears in Wisconsin on Oct. 18 from 2-3 p.m., where she will describe the multi-state effort of the Shifting Gears program to achieve better educational outcomes for low income adults.
