Moving Foward on Benefits Restoration

Elizabeth Lower-Basch, senior policy analyst for Workforce Development at CLASP, will participate in a discussion during the Benefits Restoration Strategy session at the 7th National Low Income Immigrant Rights conference on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, from 2:15 - 4:15 p.m., in Arlington, VA. The scheduled reauthorization in 2011 of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program provides an opportunity for restoring equity for low-income immigrants in TANF and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). This broad strategy session will also address critically needed progress in immigrant eligibility and access to other benefits such as food stamps, housing, child care. The session is sponsored by the National Immigration Law Center.
