CTAN Statement for the Record for Hearing on H.R. 6, American Dream and Promise Act of 2021

CLASP, First Focus Campaign for Children, and other members of the Children Thrive Action Network (CTAN) submitted this statement for the record to the Senate Judiciary Committee for the June 15, 2021 hearing on “The American Dream and Promise Act of 2021.”

The statement urges Congress to pass the bill and explains why a path to citizenship is important for immigrant youth, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) beneficiaries, Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) holders–as well as for their children and families–and how the bill would improve access to higher education for immigrant students.
