Comments in Response to Proposed Rulemaking: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program: Requirements for Able-Bodied Adults without Dependents

CLASP submitted these comments to Regulations.gov on March 29, 2019. CLASP strongly opposes the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s proposed regulation to limit SNAP for adults without dependents or documented disabilities. As antipoverty experts, we believe that the proposed changes will not incentivize or equip people with what they need to seek and maintain work, and will also have profound and damaging consequences for the well-being and long-term success of struggling workers and their families. We urge that the rule be withdrawn.
