Judy Mortrude is the director of CLASP's Alliance for Quality Career Pathways, serving as a senior consultant to the Center for Postsecondary and Economic Success. Ms. Mortrude has more than 30 years of experience in developing, delivering, and evaluating education projects for workforce development, particularly with low-literacy and high-barrier populations. As the state director for Minnesota's FastTRAC Adult Career Pathway cross-system initiative over the past five years, Ms. Mortrude played a leading role in phase I of the Alliance for Quality Career Pathways, and is well-positioned with the other Alliance states and with national policymakers to continue this work to build quality standards for adult and youth career pathway programs and systems.
Before joining the Minnesota Department of Employment & Economic Development in 2009, Ms. Mortrude ran the state's largest Adult Basic Education consortium, annually serving more than 10,000 low-skill, low-income adults and their families. Ms. Mortrude is a licensed adult education instructor and adjunct faculty at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in the Organizational Leadership and Professional Development department.
