CLASP Statement for the Record on Public Field Hearing: “Immigration Raids: Impacts and Aftermath on Mississippi Communities.”

CLASP submitted this statement for the record for the November 7, 2019 House Committee on Homeland Security public field hearing on “Immigration Raids: Impacts and Aftermath on Mississippi Communities.” The statement outlines the long-term harm that the August worksite raids inflicted on children, families, and the broader community. The statement also calls on Congress to hold ICE accountable for the community harms caused by such large-scale enforcement actions and protect the wellbeing of children in all immigration enforcement actions.
