Power of Partnership: Virtual Panel on Youth & Young Adults

September 21, 2021 3:00pm – 4:30pm ET

Watch panel discussion about the cross-cutting work and impact of CLASP’s youth policy engagement efforts. This past year has brought many challenges to all of us, but especially for young people and young people of color who have been disproportionately impacted by the public health and economic crisis. Speakers included:

  • Brenda Perez Amador, New Deal for Youth Changemaker
  • Monica Badgett, Training & Development Representative, City and County of Denver
  • Hilary Pennington, Executive VP of Programs, Ford Foundation • Duy Pham, Policy Analyst, Justice, CLASP
  • Nia West-Bey, Director of Youth Policy, CLASP (moderator)
  • Joseph Yusuf, New Deal for Youth Changemaker

Throughout the crisis, CLASP’s youth team and partners have fought hard to ensure these communities are receiving the equitable support they need. CLASP continues to advocate for youth policy solutions that center racial, gender, and class equity in their approaches by working with the Biden-Harris Administration to engage young people in the Build Back Better plan and by launching the New Deal for Youth (ND4Y) initiative to demand action from our nation to support all young people. Hear from a panel of experts, changemakers, and organizers who will discuss the evolving priorities focused on youth and young adults and how we’ve been fighting for youth policy solutions. As the White House and Congress discuss massive budget plans, learn how these investments may have a huge impact on youth and how CLASP will play a role in supporting their enactment and implementation.
