On October 13, 2021 Ashley Burnside, Tiffany Ferrette, and Alycia Hardy lead a session entitled “The Effect of the American Rescue Plan Act on Benefit Cliffs” during the Maryland Community Action Partnership (MCAP) 2021 Human Services Conference. During the session, the CLASP team shared various benefits provided to individuals and families under the American Rescue Plan and how the programs impact benefit cliffs and families’ ability to meet their basic needs. Programs discussed included child care, early education, the Child Tax Credit, SNAP, TANF, the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), and other anti-poverty programs.
