On February 24, Jamie Riley will speak at the NFBPA national summit on a panel entitled “Racism is a Public Health Issue”, which will the inequities that exist in our healthcare system and how those within public administration can be catalyst of change.
On November 10, Duy Pham will present at Johns Hopkins' Digital Diversity Day Series on intersectional economic and criminal justice reform. On November 17, Jamie Riley will present at the series on "Adopting an Anti-Racist Lens in Fostering a Racially Inclusive Campus Climate."
To my knowledge today, June 19, 2020, will be the first time in 155 years since the formal end of slavery, that Juneteenth, or “Freedom Day,” will be widely and publicly acknowledged by some, and celebrated by others.
The Black community is faced with the drastic and dismantling impact of COVID-19. This pandemic should serve as a call to action for increased awareness and a greater commitment to centering the lived experiences and needs of communities of color.
