This roundtable brought together experts from academia and policy to discuss the harmful implications of increased immigration enforcement, restrictions on legal immigration, and the public charge rule for immigrant families’ in the United States during a worldwide pandemic. Participants also discussed strategies at the state and local level that aim to mitigate or overcome barriers to safety-net program access for low-income immigrant families.
Renato joined experts from Share Our Strength, Urban Institute, California Food Policy Advocates, and Inland Empire Coalition for Immigrant Justice to discuss what policies and strategies are available at the federal and state level to promote access to nutrition assistance programs for immigrant families.
