Andrea Amaechi is a policy analyst with CLASP's youth policy team. Her work involves supporting the Communities Collaborating to Reconnect Youth (CCRY) Network, lifting up best practice for serving youth disconnected from education and the workforce. Prior to joining CLASP, Ms. Amaechi worked in direct practice, providing case management to youth who were committed in the District of Columbia’s juvenile justice system and placed in community settings. Previously, she developed policy recommendations on a range of issues affecting low-income families at the Center for the Study of Social Policy. She has also advocated for comprehensive and culturally competent services and supports for children and youth with mental health challenges at the National Federation of Families for Children’ Mental Health. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from Howard University and a Bachelor of Science from Brown University.
