Developmental Education Students More Likely to Drop Out

Individuals who begin college as developmental education students are less likely to leave college before obtaining a degree or certificate. Results are worse for students who attend institutions with large numbers of low-income and minority students. For these students, only 8.5 percent of those referred to developmental education completed any credential within four years.
