Closing the Graduation Rate Gap Between High- and Low- Income Students

Helping low-income students succeed and earn credentials at a rate similar to their higher-income peers not only provides them with greater career opportunities but would generate a substantial boost to our economy. A 2001 study found that closing the gap between higher and lower income students in terms of their access to and success in postsecondary education would generate over $250 billion in GDP and approximately $85 billion in additional tax revenue.
