Millions of Children Rely on Federal Unemployment Benefits
Since July 2008, almost thirteen million children have lived in households with an individual who received emergency unemployment compensation (EUC) or extended unemployment benefits (EB). Half lived in households with only one potential wage-earner. EUC and EB are two federally-funded unemployment benefit programs that complement the traditional federal-state program during times of high unemployment.
