States project creating 80,000 subsidized jobs

As of January 27, some 22 states have been approved to use TANF Emergency Funds to establish new or expand subsidized employment programs.  Others are expected to join them.  State administrators report plans to create at least 80,000 subsidized jobs by September 30, 2010.  Nearly all of these jobs will go away after September 30 if the Emergency Fund is not extended.
