CCDBG Participation In 2007

Two new fact sheets from CLASP highlight Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) participation in 2007 for the program as a whole and with a specific focus on infants and toddlers. Over a quarter of all children served in CCDBG are under the age of 3. The fact sheets highlight the ages of children receiving assistance, the types of child care settings used, the reasons families receive assistance, as well as state-by-state differences in participation. Based on preliminary data from the Child Care Bureau:

• 1.7 million children received CCDBG-funded child care assistance in 2007, including nearly 500,000 infants and toddlers.
• Compared to 2006, nearly 65,000 fewer children received assistance.
