TANF spending on child care reached a 15 year low in 2013.

According to data released by the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), the total amount of federal TANF funds used for child care fell from $2.6 billion in 2012 to $2.5 billion in 2013. The value of the program has decreased from a high of $5.4 billion in 2000, to less than half of that when viewed in constant dollars.
