Helly LeeSenior Policy Analyst, Workforce Development Policy Expertise Supplemental Security Income, immigrants and refugees, low-income communities
Ms. Lee is a senior policy analyst for the workforce development team at CLASP. Ms. Lee's focus is on access to income and work support programs, including income support, nutritional assistance, health care and refundable tax credits. Prior to joining CLASP, Ms. Lee worked for the Southeast Asia Resource Action Center as their director of policy where she was a strong advocate for low-income refugee communities and led a policy team focusing on health, k-12 education, aging, economic development and immigration policies. Her prior experiences also include having worked in a congressional office and she has an extensive direct service background in child welfare and juvenile justice. Currently, Ms. Lee serves on the board of directors for Legacies of War, a national non-profit, advocacy organization. Ms. Lee received her Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of St. Thomas.
